Fayez affirms the right of the Palestinian people to establish an independent state | Culture & Society
Ammon News – Senate Speaker Faisal Fayez said the Palestinian cause will remain Jordan’s main issue and that no party could trample on the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state on their national soil, or compromise Islamic sanctities and Christians of Jerusalem.
Speaking at a meeting on Wednesday with a number of families of Palestinian prisoners and detainees in Israeli jails, Fayez noted that any solution to the Palestinian issue that does not restore the full and legitimate rights of the Palestinian people , is “impossible, nihilistic and rejected”. “
Praising and expressing his support for the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and their struggle for liberation, Fayez noted that thousands of Palestinian detainees and prisoners in Israeli prisons are suffering the worst forms of torture.
Referring to Jordan’s role in defending Palestine and its sanctuaries, he said, “The Palestinian cause has continued to be at the forefront of Jordan’s priorities”, referring to the scarification of the country to defend the Islamic and Christian holy places in Jerusalem.
Fayez also highlighted the continued role of His Majesty King Abdullah II towards the Palestinian cause and the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state, as a top priority in various international forums.
The king’s efforts, he said, were aimed at achieving a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian cause and establishing a sovereign state on Palestinian national soil, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
Fayez called on global human rights organizations to counter Israeli practices, which exacerbate the suffering of Palestinian prisoners, violate the most basic rules of human rights and help Palestinians restore their legitimate rights.
